The picturesque Lower Town fishing harbour and Fishguard Bay are just outside the window and provide lovely views at any time of the year. Fishguard has some charming restaurants, pubs, shops and galleries, all of which are within a few minutes walk of the cottage. A day trip to Ireland can be taken from the nearby harbour at Goodwick.

Enter into the hallway and through to the spacious open-plan living/dining room which enjoys the superb coastal views. There are two seating areas, the main one is furnished with leather sofas, leather chair, colour TV with satellite Freeview, DVD, CD Hi Fi and occasional furniture. There is a second raised platform with comfortable seating and sea views. The dining area has a large pine refectory style dining table with pew seating. There are patio doors leading from this room to the patio and garden. The kitchen has a range of fully fitted contemporary beech wood units incorporating an electric double oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave oven, automatic washing machine, tumble drier and breakfast table with chairs. There is a stable door from the kitchen to the enclosed patio area. There is a bedroom downstairs which is suitable for semi-ambulant persons*, it is furnished with a single bed and bedroom furniture. Adjacent to this bedroom is a shower room with conventional shower cubicle, WC and wash hand basin. Upstairs are 3 more spacious bedrooms. Bedroom 2 has a double bed, built in wardrobe, dressing table, bedside tables and a velux window with sea views; it also has an en suite shower room with shower cubicle, WC and wash hand basin. Bedrooms 3 and 4 both have twin beds, built in wardrobes, dressing tables, bedside tables and velux windows affording sea and harbour views. The family bathroom has a white suite of bath, separate shower cubicle, WC and wash hand basin. All the beds have duvets and will be made up with fresh linen for your arrival. Bath and hand towels are provided, but not beach towels. A standard cot and highchair are available. Full gas central heating throughout the cottage and this is included in the rental during the summer months (May - Sept) and a charge of £40 payable to the owner is made during Oct- April. An enclosed patio to the fore of the cottage has a picnic bench and beyond this is a sloped area of lawn. Both garden areas overlook Lower Town harbour. Sorry no pets. No smoking in the cottage. There is parking for 2 cars. * Ramps for wheelchair access to the cottage could be provided on request. Close to Solva and St Davids, the coastline along this stretch of the National Park is quite stunning and the coastal bus service for walkers can be caught just 2 minutes walk from the cottage. The harbour village of Solva has several pubs, restaurants and individual shops. St. Davids with its magnificent Cathedral is famous for being the smallest city in Wales. A day trip to one of the bird islands of Ramsey, Skomer or Skokholm is well worth the effort and at the right time of the year you can see literally thousands of puffins and shearwaters off Skomer.

Situated on the southern edge of the Snowdonia National Park in the beautiful wooded Dyfi Valley, Upper Barn Cottage makes a great holiday hideaway. The property is approached by a long and winding lane through the valley and is situated in the owner's 23 acres of hill pasture and woodland with large well stocked fish pond and small boat for guests use (strictly at their own risk). Mallwyd village is close by and has a pub and village shop. Machynlleth has a great selection of shops, restaurants, pubs and galleries and is just 10 miles away.
The barn is approached by a flight of external stone steps, thereafter it is on one level and newly carpeted. Entrance is into the open-plan living room with kitchen, sitting and dining areas. The sitting area is furnished with two leather chesterfield sofas, coffee table, and occasional furniture, colour TV, DVD and CD player. The kitchen is fitted with a range of pine units incorporating electric cooker, fridge and microwave oven. The owner offers shared use of an automatic washing machine, tumble drier and freezer space in her utility room, which is always accessible to guests. The dining area has a dining table with 4 chairs. There are two bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a kingsize pine sleigh bed with freestanding hand painted wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables, velux windows and a stable door so you can lie in bed and enjoy the view! The door leads to external stone steps. Bedroom 2 has a double bed, built in wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables and velux windows. The beds will all be made up with fresh linen and duvets for your arrival. The shower room has a shower cubicle, WC and wash hand basin. A travel cot and highchair are available. There is oil central heating throughout the cottage which is included in the rental from May to September and charged for at a flat rate of £25 per week at all other times. There is a large sloped lawn area with a well stocked fish pond (fishing is allowed on a catch and release basis) and boat which guests may use (strictly at their own risk) and seats, tables and chairs overlooking the pond for those wishing to relax in the surroundings. There is also a dedicated garden area for guests, with a table and chairs for outside dining and character, hand-made chairs and benches arranged around an open fire pit. Sorry, no smoking and no pets in the cottage. There is ample parking for two cars beside the barn. Towels are included.

500 yards from the city centre, Cathedral and the many shops, galleries, excellent eateries and pubs in Britain's smallest city. The Cathedral is hidden in the valley beside the magnificent Bishop's Palace ruins. Close-by there are many beaches and coves including Caerfai which is just a mile away. There are walks directly from the cottages (2 miles) to Llys y Fran Country Park and Reservoir which has a 6.5 mile perimeter and offers the chance to hire mountain bikes for a ride or a loch style boat for a fishing trip. The Preseli Hills are nearby and offer some of Pembrokeshire's most beautiful walking and scenery. Broad Haven beach is approx 12 miles and Newport is 12 miles, there are numerous other Blue Flag beaches within easy driving distance of the cottages.

Semi-detached whitewashed former Tilery which has been finished to a very high standard, ideally situated in the very heart of Pembrokeshire. The cottage is surrounded by open rolling countryside and yet it is a short drive to Haverfordwest, Newgale and Broad Haven. Scolton Manor is close by and offers a great day out for all the family. Llys y Fran Country Park, Preseli Hills, Oakwood and, of course, the beaches and Pembrokeshire Coastal Path are all within a half hour drive of the cottage. There is a choice of several pubs approximately one and a half miles away. The surrounding lanes have a labyrinth of very well signposted footpaths.
